A watercolour 23cm x 16 cm depicting the French-Italian border post at the Pont St. Louis-Frontiere. This was sold on the Mutualart auction website in 2022, once again wrongly attributed to Jean Bompard.
The watercolour probably dates to the mid 1920s and must certainly be before WW2 as the frontier post was the scene of a battle where just a handful of French soldiers held off a large invading Italian force and the towers on the bridge are no longer there.
Pierre Bompard also painted this scene.
Sold on the Mutualart auction website In 2020 and yet again wrongly attributed to Jean Bompard. A watercolour, 13.5 cm x 9.5 cm.
Sold on the Mutual art website in 2022 as a work by Jean Bompard. Watercolour on board 12 cm x 18 cm.
