The Llangollen Advertiser - Friday October 22nd, 1915
THE LATE MISS M. L. HORSPOOL
The death of Miss Mary Louisa Horspool, youngest daughter of Mr Robert Horspool, Cherry Tree, Llangollen, which took place suddenly at the Alexandra Hospital, Rhyl, on Friday, October 15th, caused a feeling of profound sorrow in the town and district where the family of the deceased is so well-known and highly respected. The deceased lady, who was in her forty-third year, had been in failing health for some time and, about a fortnight ago, removed to Rhyl, in the hope that the change might prove beneficial; but, unfortunately, this was not to be, her illness terminating, as stated, despite all that loving care and skilled attention could effect. Miss Horspool had been a most indefatigable and able Church-worker and her help could always be readily commanded when skilled service, in Church decoration or otherwise, was needed. The last mortal remains were conveyed to Llangollen on Saturday, and the funeral took place on Tuesday, October 19th, the interment being made in the family vault in St John's Churchyard. A brief service was conducted at the house by the Rev. T. Merlin Davies (Vicar) who subsequently officiated at the graveside. The principal mourners were: Mr. R. Horspool (father); Miss Emily Horspool (sister); Mrs Rogers, Liverpool (sister); Mr. and Mrs. Robert Horspool (brother and sister-in-law); Mrs Waltho (sister); Miss Muriel and Mr Frank Waltho (nephew and niece); Mr and Mrs Bert Horspool (brother and sister-in-law); Master Lindsay Horspool (nephew); Miss Connie Horspool (niece); Masters Ernie, Eddie and Norman Horspool (nephews); Miss Parry, Corwen; Mr Viggars Wrexham, etc. etc. A number of beautiful wreaths were placed upon the grave having been sent by : "Father and Family", "Selina and children", "Annie, Minnie and Fred"; "Robert, Grace and family"; "Bert, Nellie and Lindsay"; "Cousin Mabel, Alice and Lucy"; Mrs and the Misses Foulkes; Mr and Mrs Birch and family; Mr and Mrs J.
