The following report appeared in the Stamford Mercury on Friday 18 November 1825 concerning an accident which befell Mr William Horsepoole of Bingham on Saturday 12th November 1825.
Did he survive?
On Saturday night last, as Mr. Wm. Horsepoole, butcher, of Bingham, was returning in his cart from Nottingham market, when in Radcliffe field, about three miles from his home, he very unwisely descended over the forepart of his vehicle, at the time his horse was moving onward, and falling before one of the wheels passed over his stomach, and bruised him in a very severe manner. He was shortly afterwards found lying on the road, his horse having proceeded forward, and was conveyed home, where he now lies in a very precarious state.
