Francis Leroy Horspool was the son of William Francis Horspool and Barbara Gallagher
"Francis L. Horspool (1871-1951) didn't really study with anybody. Indeed, by the time of Horspool's death at the age of eighty, he was undoubtedly Utah's most distinctive and productive primitive or "folk" artist. An appreciation for the work of an artist like Horspool values the nontraditional. "
